PLAYBOY – Pinball

(Stern, 2002)

The 1970s version of the Playboy Pinball table is a highly collectible item, and Stern has resurrected and reinvented this classic brand for a second pinball experience. The Stern version was designed by George Gomez and features plenty of recognisable Playboy emblems, and will be an instant hit with those who know this timeless brand.

The aim of the game is to visit Playmates and collect Playboy rabbit logos. Players will choose Playmates from different months in the calendar and play strip poker with the girls on screen. Once all 12 months are collected, Mansion Mania begins! The gameplay is fun, light-hearted and accessible, and as players advance, they’ll find new Playmates hiding among the targets and playfield decor.

True to the brand, the table features a centrefold right there in the playfield; the pages automatically turn as the 3-ball Multiball is triggered. For adult venues, there is a nude centrefold; this can be switched out for a clothed version if you prefer something more family friendly.

The cabinet is designed to reflect the glamour and indulgence of the Playboy brand, with Playmate photos adorning the sides.

Game Aims:

  • Collect playmates to start “Mansion Mania” – (25 Rabbit Heads = 1 Playmate).
  • Open the magazine for a “Skill Shot”.
  • Centrefold Multiball – Shoot centre ramp four times to open the centrefold. Keep all three balls in play to light “Triple Jackpot Toy”.
  • To score quickly shoot at the flashing shots.
  • The more Playmates collected, the higher chance “Extra Ball” and “Special” will light up!

Game Features:

  • Un-folding Centrefold toy.
  • Peek-a-boo beaded curtain.
  • Drop down “Tease” screen.
  • Peek-a-boo target.
  • 3-ball Multiball – unfolds centrefold toy.
  • Execute skill shots to open toys.
  • Right ramp – triple jackpot points to be scored.
  • 2 x sturdy flippers.
  • Traditional coin door.
  • Playboy Bunny motifs.
  • Side artwork – girl in a bunny outfit.
  • Multiple girls to choose from.
  • Interchangeable playfield photos included – conservative, partially clothed and nude.
  • Released by Stern in 2002.
